A lovely marbling of grey and light mauve, this hat is made from Malabrigo Mecha, a 100% Uruguayan Merino wool.
Each hat I make is one of a kind; each has its own distinct character.
This hat is ready to ship. From crown to brim the hat measures 9 in/23 cm. The circumference is 18 in/46 cm, which comfortably stretches to fit a 20-23 in/51-58 cm head.
I recommend hand washing your hat with Soak wash. I include a small packet of Soak provided with your order.
Fill a basin with lukewarm water, drizzle in Soak and swirl the water with your hands. Add your hat and gently push it into the water. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Carefully gather the hat in your hands, take it out of the water and slowly squeeze out as much water as you can; never wring it. Place the newly washed hat on a bath towel, shape it without stretching and roll up the towel like a burrito. Let the hat sit in the towel burrito for 30 minutes. Unroll the towel, remove your hat, supporting its weight so it won’t stretch. Place it flat on a dry towel or drying net. Reshape the hat and turn it every few hours, so it won’t develop a crease. Your hat will be dry and ready to wear in 48 hours.
Your hat will be wrapped with great care in Eco Enclose Eco-Friendly packaging.
The pattern is La Mecha by Abbey Swanson, The Firefly Hook.
